HOUSE WITH ART COLLECTION/ ANTIQUE HUNTER / TANG'S DYNASTY
DESIGN
The land area is 26,642 sq ft = 2500m2, with a gorss floor area construction of approximately 3,200m2.
The owner, Mr. Ng (Phạm), is a lover of antiques and a collector of artifacts from the Tang Dynasty. He wants to transform his house into a small museum to display the objects he owns and combine traditional materials with modern design.
The house (2 floors and 1 basement) is designed in two blocks: a separate living area and a display area, separated by an inner courtyard connected by a pedestrian bridge on the upper floor.
The front facade of the house is covered with perforated aluminum panels, complemented by stone columns with decorative balustrades inspired by the Tang Dynasty. On the other hand, 2000 ancient tea jars, including Pu-Er tea sets purchased at a price per gram (250,000 USD for 250 grams), are showcased as decorative elements on the exterior of the house.
The upper floors serve as exhibition spaces for artifacts, antiques, and ancient instruments. Additionally, there is a collection of ancient paintings, including "Bách mã" by the famous painter Lang Shining, a 30m long silk painting of a tiger, and "Bách điểu" (100 eagles) by renowned artists.
The basement also serves as a display area for sculptures and antique statues, as well as a wine cellar designed to hold 2,000 bottles of wine, including various rare and valuable wines.
The modern garage is connected to the basement and features a classic-inspired design, with paintings and a lift, accommodating 12 luxury cars, including Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
The garden showcases lamp posts that were acquired when the North Bridge in Singapore was dismantled.
P/S: The construction cost of the project is estimated at around S$25 million = 425 billion VND at current prices, and the market value of this villa in 2019 is approximately S$63 million = 1100 billion VND.
